New Year, Same Noodle

It's finally 2020!  This year has been off to a slow start for me.  I'm still recovering from the holidays, which is never easy for me as it's still dark so early.  But diving back into my fabric stash, seeing all the bright colors and cutting out a whole new batch of monsters is starting to brighten my spirit and bring back my creativity. In my last post, I mentioned that my word of the year is dedication.  I've been taking that seriously and have been dedicating a bit of every day to this business.  I know that even 5...

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone has been enjoying their holiday season - whatever you celebrate.  It's been a disorienting few weeks for me personally, holidays on a Wednesday are always a mess for my workweek. (I couldn't figure out what day it was on the 26th - Monday? Thursday? Saturday? Who knows!)  I've gotten plenty of relaxing and recharging in, which was all I wanted this year.  It's been a good time to reflect on the year gone by and think about the future. A fresh coat of paint

This week, I moved the shop over to a new webhost.  I'm really excited about making it look a lot better than it has in the past, and adding a lot of functionality for both you, the customers, and me.  I had a crazy October this year - I was out at events at least two days every week.  I took the next month off to rest, recuperate, and get my creative juices flowing again.  So it's now December and I have a handful of markets to help you get ready for the holiday season. Here are all my different...

Oodles of noodles

Posted by Amanda Woade on

So I had this brilliant idea a few months ago - I should make some pasta-themed products that would really fit with my business name. Monsteroni, while adorable, are a little confusing to people sometimes.  (The extrusion process is very complicated.)  A little later, it hit me.  Pet toys.  That would be the perfect answer! So this week, I came out with my brand new catnip pasta. Right now, there are only tortellini and ravioli shapes available, but I've got my eye on gyoza, pierogis, gnocci, spaghetti and meatballs... The list goes on. They're all made to order right now, and...

On weirdos

Posted by Amanda Woade on

I was thinking about my mission statement the other day.  I came up with "To inspire weirdos to be comfortable with themselves at every age".  I feel really good about it. A lot of people probably think of the term "weirdo" as derogatory.  People think it's an insult to be called a weirdo.  But I disagree.  It's a great term that encompasses all kinds of people outside the "norm", and it should be appreciated and loved as such. I think it's a treat and an honor to be weird.  Just think of Weird Al, he's an inspiration to me in...
