It's almost Halloween?

It's almost Halloween?

Another month gone by in quarantine.  So much and so little has happened.  Some days feel like a blink and others don't seem to end. I hope yours have gotten easier and quarantine has finally gotten into some semblance of a routine for you. I still haven't gotten into a new routine since moving. Mornings are pretty structured (Dr. Smokey needs his food as soon as he can see that I'm semi-conscious) but time often gets a little wiggly as the day wears on.  It's been making a lot of projects and ideas take way longer to get done, but I'm finally...

A grand reopening celebration

A grand reopening celebration

I'm sorry that there was that sudden and surprising hiatus last month.  I had to move very suddenly. I wasn't sure exactly when I'd be able to fulfill orders, so I didn't want to leave anyone in a lurch as to when they would be getting anything.  Thank you for all the support and I'm excited to be creating again. Creating was definitely something I missed.  I (somewhat foolishly) packed all of my crafting and art supplies first when I moved so they weren't accessible until very recently.  Whoops.  Getting back into the swing of it is like riding a bike,...

Starting off summer

Today's the fifth day of summer and it's already so hot.  Summer is the season I was born in so it's always been my favorite, but this year feels a lot different than year past. The pandemic has been keeping me indoors.  I have several people in my life who have fragile immune systems, and I've been working my other job at an essential business since COVID-19 hit.  Please keep wearing masks when you go out, limit your exposure to others, and stay healthy.  This pandemic is far from over, and we're seeing places in the US have to restrict...

April showers and May flowers

April showers and May flowers

Another month sheltered in place, it seems.  Here in Philly, we will be inside until at least June.  I decided to move my studio in my house to a different room, so that's been a big change and undertaking over the past couple of weeks.  I didn't realize quite what a fabric hoarder I'd been until I had to move it all.  It's been inspirational in its own way, though, as it's reminded me all the things I hadn't been able to see.  So while I'll still be creating more pasta toys and monsters, hopefully I can finally try to...

We've got cabin fever! We've got cabin fever!

We've got cabin fever! We've got cabin fever!

I had written a post to put out in March, but I never hit publish.  It's really strange, it shows a completely different picture of the world than what we're in right now.  It's looking forward to markets and big spring plans - something that seems so foreign, but wasn't that long ago. What's been going on with me through all this? I have a day job.  It's essential and we can't work from home, so I've been coming into the office every week day.  It lends a nice sense of normal in these bizarre times.  I'm very grateful to...
