Hello-ween!

by Amanda Woade

Happy October everyone!

I originally planned for there to be a fall/Halloween release on the first of the month, but that has come and gone.  I'm doing what I can to get it up Monday (or sooner!), so be on the lookout for some seasonal treats.

The pandemic has just really done a number on my stamina. I think it has to a lot of people, but the amount of rest I need has really grown.  Working full time and going back to a commute hasn't helped, but I'm glad for the structure in my life.  I'm trying to structure in some time for EMP as well so that I can stay engaged and excited and keep creating wonderful new things for you and your kittens.

My housemate's kittens are growing so fast!  Banyan and Copurrnicus are just 6 months old, but they're so much bigger than they used to be.  They're still young little fluff balls, but their personalities are developing and it's been lovely getting to know them and teach them to be better cats.  Banyan is the cuddly one - he's very pushy about both his wet food and getting all the pets your hands can give.  Copurrnicus is mostly chill, but I think he may be the sneaky plastic eater of the duo. It really has been a treat to watch them grow from 6 weeks to 6 months. So big! Such adventure! So learning!

In exciting local news, I will be a part of The MAKRS Society Market in Durham on October 24th! I have really missed in-person events and I'm also really excited to meet the local Durham community in a different way.  I've still been mostly anxious about going out, but the anxiety is starting to ebb.  It's going to be outdoors, I'll be masked, and I hope to meet some of you there!

How has your summer gone?  Are you excited for sweater weather or missing the heat? Most importantly, what are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?
